Each zone offers its own distinct rides, attractions, and food service venues. Six Flags Magic Mountain features eleven separately themed areas to the park. Several amusement parks, including Six Flags Magic Mountain were once again closed in March 2020, this time due to the coronavirus pandemic. In 2015, Colossus became a Rocky Mountain Construction hybrid roller coaster named Twisted Colossus. On August 16, 2014, the wooden coaster Colossus was closed. When the terrorist attacks occurred on September 11, 2001, Six Flags Magic Mountain was forced to close, along with several other amusement parks. In 1998, Premier Parks, now known as "Six Flags", bought The Six Flags Corporation from Time Warner. During this time, several roller coasters were built in the following years. The name of the park continued to be Six Flags Magic Mountain, along with other Six Flags parks around the world. Less than a decade after Six Flags bought the park, Six Flags Corporation was sold to Time Warner in 1989. GSC/Six Flags corporation was sold to Bally Manufacturing later in the late 1980s. In 1979, the park was sold to Great Southwest/ Six Flags Corporation and renamed "Six Flags Magic Mountain". In 1973, the park added its third roller coaster, the now defunct Mountain Express. Both are still operating at the park today. Two roller coasters opened with the park in its first year of operation. The admission price in 1971 was $5 for adults, and $3.50 for children between the ages of 3 and 12. Many of the attractions were designed and built by Arrow Development Co., which later became Arrow Dynamics. Food is available.When the park opened in 1971, there were 500 employees and 33 attractions. Kids and adults alike will enjoy Speedy Gonzalez Hot Rod Racers roller coaster, the Merrie Melodies Carousel, and the PEPE LE PEW'S Tea Party and Daffy's Adventure Tours rides. Bugs Bunny World is a 6-acre interactive wonderland offering more than a dozen family-friendly rides and attractions. The race covers two complete laps, multiple airtime hills, extreme high-banked turns and exhilarating over/under near misses as well as an immersive real-time pit stop. The park's newest addition is West Coast Racers featuring two side-by-side tracks with four individual high-speed launches. It is located in the Boardwalk-themed area with attractions including bumper cars as well as dining, games and shopping. At 17-stories tall, CraZanity is a pendulum ride with speeds up to 75-miles-per-hour, whipping riders back and forth. JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis features one of DC’s hottest Super-Villains, HARLEY QUINN, new game targets and a new finale. Among the park's world-class roller coasters and thrill rides are Twisted Colossus, the world's longest hybrid coaster Full Throttle, a triple-launch coaster that reaches a speed of 70 mph and a height of 160 feet LEX LUTHOR: Drop of Doom, a free-fall drop ride featuring floorless gondolas that reach speeds up to 85 mph Tatsu, a flying coaster the wooden coaster Apocalypse and the giant coaster Goliath. Six Flags Magic Mountain, 26101 Magic Mountain Pkwy., is a 260-acre theme park boasting they are the Thrill Capital of the World with some 20 roller coasters and more than 100 other rides, games and attractions for all ages.
